COUNTRY RETREAT

A private residential country house, situated moments from London. The 3 bed, 3.5 bath property is fully-refurbished to include decorative interior architecture details, complimenting the additions of 17th-20th century antiquities and custom-designed FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment). Due to the external modern architectural qualities of the property, antiquities such as a 1970s original Ligne Roset coffee table and 1920s two-poster bed have been incorporated in the interiors to evoke a characteristically lived-in rhetoric, in-line with the client’s preferred style. The kitchen is fitted with shaker cabinets and Miele appliances, providing the modern comforts of a city home against a relaxed backdrop. The bathrooms were also updated with new sanitaryware, fittings and finishes.

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME ALONG THE WINDING LANES OF THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE.

A full kitchen renovation. - We replaced worn-out looking maple veneer cabinetry and tiled walls with seamless Corian countertops and backsplash, paired with dove grey shaker cupboards to brighten up the kitchen. Our client tasked us to create a space that could transform into a place to dine, work and entertain. Instead of overloading the kitchen with upper cabinetry, we introduced custom oak shelving on both sides of the sloped roof, allowing the space to feel more open and less like a kitchen. We laid a large format jute rug on top of the newly installed underfloor heated tiled floors to add warmth and texture to the room. The custom designed solid oak topped table and painted tapered legs in Farrow & Ball paint, accompanied with antique caned French dining chairs, further contributes to the character of the space. Playing off the refurbished mint framed chairs, we tied the space together by refreshing the walls in a similar hue.

LIVING WITH
ANTIQUES

The living room with cathedral styled windows has incredible heights. We removed the previously carpeted floors and replaced this with engineered timber planks. We celebrated our 18th century antique finds - refurbishing and reupholstering many pieces to it’s former glory, providing an extra layer of detail through the accentuation of historical craftmanship and design. Amongst many other design interventions, we installed a bespoke iron-forged drapery rail with cashmere drapery panels at the bay windows to assist in insulating the interiors on a chilly winters day, while layering colour in the interiors.

We work with antique dealers to source one-of-a-kind furniture.

A PLACE TO REST & RESET.

Each bedroom is stylistically unique. We were tasked to create “boutique hotel” styled rooms, suiting for a property to be inhabited as an escape from the city.

We collaborate with local artisans to deliver custom,
hand-crafted details.

Integrating art into pockets of spaces, creating interest and intrigue.

STYLIZED SPACES

Artwork and sculptures were incorporated into transitional spaces of the property to elevate the journey in between spaces. The staircase banisters and handrails were re-finished to a darker walnut stain, complimenting two timber sculptural totems that were once part of an architectural door opening in South East Asia. We also lined the corridor walls with half-height panels, painted in dark emerald green, befitting of a setting you may typically find in the English countryside.
