Project Upload: City Residence

City Residence, a 3 bed, 2 bath pied-a-terre located within the heart of Hong Kong’s commercial district, turned tourist destination - Tsim Sha Tsui.

The design scope was to complete a gut out renovation of the property. Creating a space allowing for the client to detatch from the activity of the city. The nature of the building being enclosed within the constructs of other high-rises, encouraged a design approach that evolved around creating a calm and restorative mood.

The process involved working with local skilled craftsman to create bespoke joinery and finishes as well as custom furnishings and doors. In particular, the feature of a custom metal encased glass door, unique to the property, seperating the entertaining and resting spaces is one of our favourite moments at City Residence.

The living area features a rug, ‘Spring Buds’ in our hand-selected ‘Sunrise’ palette, from our Sky & Earth rug collection designed by Nora Chou exclusively for Silk Avenue. Available in bespoke sizes and colourways.

Typical of Hong Kong properties and especially city dwelling in general, the layout of apartments tend to be more compact. As such, through bespoke design and creative thinking, we were keen to integrate storage solutions where it feels cohesive rather than standalone or an after thought. We embraced the smaller bed and bath spaces, by creating layered moments through customization, which we find assists in stimulating distinctive interest.
